Many time not only without online updates from a new Stratego site, but also a simple post in this forum. Can we already say that we won´t be able to play online again?

Any noun like "news" that is indefinite and uncountable is considered singular.

The summer is still in full action here. Temperatures are amazing. A lot of people are still on holidays or are coming back in the coming weeks.
There are no new things to report at the moment.
