I cannot post in some topics (http://www.strategocommunity.freebb.nl/t...l#pid194), or delete my own erroneous posts in the Full Edit mode. It would be nice to be able to delete a post of my own if it was done in mistake.

Some topics still do not have the Thank button.

Can you try to log out and back in? maybe also delete any cache files from this forum. If the issue persists, can you send a PM with at least the following:

1) Direct link to the subforum or thread
2) Textual description of the issue
3 Screenshots

When trying with a regular user account (slave03) it worked just fine for me.



Not allowing people to delete their own posts is a choice.

How does one "...maybe also delete any cache files from this forum."? I have an Android S7 phone.

I did try restarting my phone but it didn't change anything.

Thanks for the link to deleting files. I did that for All Time, but still am unable to delete my own posts that I would like to. Here's the page I see (2 parts) when I try to delete under Full Edit.

You won't be able to delete your own posts because it is disabled by forum permissions.

If that's the case, then it would probably be best to remove the apparently option to delete one's post under the Full Edit feature, wouldn't it?

A problem I'm having, and it's increasing in frequency, is that I cannot post to certain forums. Tonight I couldn't even reply to a pm from Morx. I got the same error screen that I get posting to certain topics.

A small update minutes later....

I just found out I can't initiate a pm either. I get the same whack screen when I try to pm Morx with a new pm.

It's kinda weird you get all sorts of troubles. Can you try on PC and let us know how that goes?

When I click on Member List, I got this:

Apparently today I can post in the topics I was having trouble in before. I tried with both my PC and then my phone again in the same problematic topics. I also was able to send Morx a PM successfully from both my PC and my phone just now.

So all good, though I don't fully get why. Seems to all work atm.

Okay, tonight I was able to post in a topic called Community Setup at 21 hours (local time) at home. From my phone. Now, a few hours later as I get to sleep (01:45 local time) I can't post in that same forum again from my phone. I'm on the same home WiFi network I was using successfully a few hours ago. But I get the same error screen as I linked above.

This is frustrating. I hope it can be ascertained why it happens. It will drive people away and you will never know why.

Strangely, I was able to edit my 21 hours post just now with the same text that fails to now make a successful new reply....

I'm hoping this post will go through in this other topic....

EDIT: It went through! All very puzzling... Just to double check I have now just gone back to the Community Setup topic and it still fails to allow me to post there.

We've enabled a mobile plug-in, let us know if this goes better. Interface will look differently unless you elect to use the "use full mode".

Please do not make this new view an automatic switch. Give us an option in the settings to decide how we wish to see the site. This "simplified view" was something that the old forum added at some point as well. There, when the new version began appearing I started having to constantly change back to the original, as it seemed that the normal view would change every time I returned to the old forum. Personally, I never liked this "simplified view" there because it was just an odd look and it lost some of its functionality versus the original look.

I don't know about the functionality part here, but it was annoying to always be forced to change back to the original look in the old forum and I can see it will be here as well. Can we just be given a viewing preference in the settings on this issue?

I believe it's only happening for me on my phone. Since that's 95% of my time here, that's why I'm seeing it all the time. I have not seen the issue from my desktop computer. But why the difference?

Puzzlingly, here I can post to some topics and not others. And the ones I'm blocked on I have previously posted to, even in the same hour. Very strange.

Time seems to fix the block. If I come to the topic a day later it's fine. Or, if I post from my desktop computer, that seems to free up my phone to post as well.

Tonight I couldn't post when I attempted to copy another post that contained an image. When I deleted that image from my post, my post went through. All on my phone.

I think I've figured it out.

It just might be that my difficulties in posting at times come when I use a smiley that's generated from my phone.

When I try to post this with a smiley from my phone at the bottom, the post does not take. When I remove the smiley, it allows me to post normally.

I can then re-insert a smiley from my phone at the bottom through the QUICK editing feature, though strangely not through the FULL editing feature, as that changes my smileys to question marks. But then it doesn't seem to matter as my smileys turn to question marks the next time I visit that post.

I believe I do not have these problems using the smileys provided by the editor here.
